Hong Kong Gastronomical Minute: Maxim's

It's almost a crime if you go to Hong Kong and not have dim sum! ;p And this trip, I was craving for egg tarts rather badly...Dun ask me why, its just a food fetish that I had at that point in time. So before I left to head back to Singapore, B decided to meet me for lunch at Maxim's restaurant at City Hall. I went there really early at 11.30 am to reserve seats. Apparently if you go after 12.30, the place is always jam packed and you have to wait for a very long time before you get your turn. But since I went there super early... I had plenty of time to get a table.

The dim sum was not that great to shout about.. it was normal to me, but I just loved to take in the nostalgia, I guess. You can spot the waitresses pushing their trolleys and shouting the food that they have in their carts. I just love that part! :)

Oh and my fave dim sum is this yummy dumpling in broth. Egg Tarts!! And last but not least, B introduced me to this soft beancurd that is topped with brown sugar.
