I feel kinda sick today...saw the doctor, but the medication he gave me like not very powerful...Sigh.. I have to recover before I go to HK again.. I dun want my trip to be spoilt by this sickness :(

So here I am surfing the net for more interior decorating ideas before we meet our ID and finally brief him. So many ideas... what do we want???

B wants an island in the kitchen.
We both want 2 sinks in the master toilet. And he wants to put a TV in the bathroom...DUH...
I want wallpaper decor, chandelier, acrylic chair and table, and floral motifs....

I kinda like this bedroom...very boutique-hotelish... I am toying with the idea of using wallpaper and floral motifs for our new bedroom. Still doing tons of research...

Went to check out Wacha yesterday with Jap frens, Dice and Maki-san. Located at 14 Ann Siang Road, this cute little Japanese boutique and restaurant came recommended by one of the foodie sites that I chanced upon. So naturally, I was all excited about going to check it out!

The decor of Wacha was quaint, serene and cosy. We went during lunch and were seated at the basement. We ordered a basket of assorted appetizers to share. They came in tiny portions in a cute little basket. Thought it was okay in terms of taste. As for lunch, B ordered the Chicken Rice Bowl and I had the Unagi Don (Eel rice bowl). My eel came abit overdone and char-grilled, so I wasnt bowled over by the results. As for dessert, the Matcha Ice-Cream is a super powerful green tea flavoured ice-cream. We reckon that they used the entire packet of green tea to make this home-made ice-cream. Haha.. Anyways, they do serve a variety of Japanese tea. But 7 bucks for Muigi-Cha (Roasted Buckwheat Tea)? Its not worth the money! If you fancy some, let me know, I have some packets that I bought from Japan. Haha!

We popped by to JB and Elaine's place for dinner. A stone's throw away from our apartment, we decided to stroll there. Their 3-bedroom apartment is really nice! I was bowled over about how clean and amazing it looks. Check it out!

The dining room and the living room. I liked the hanging lights and the back-lit wall feature!

Special features in the guest bedrooms. Simple but chic features to bring out the designer touch!

I doubt you can see it clearly in the picture. But the header for the bed has a special wall feature that allows the owner to place that red square anywhere he wants. Master bedroom has a sexy feel to it! :p

Overall, a really stylish apartment! I guess it makes a difference if the owner had lived in it before, cos at least a little more effort is being made to make the apartment look pretty. We have no such luck with ours!

Friday loving decor tips

Another random post on more decor tips that I hope to achieve with our new place. Went to clean up the place this morning. The salt was thrown all over the home for purification purposes. Erm, it was a little difficult to clean up. My recommendation next time, leave the salt outside the home. Do like what the Japanese do, makes cleaning up a WHOLE LOT easier. haha.. Anyway, am quite pleased that the house is really quite clean for the move tomorrow. Just need a couple of finishing touches to make it homely thereafter. So as I go a-surfing, here's what I found:

Small candlelights for that warm evening cozying up after a long day's of hard work. I dun really like the bright fluorescent lights that we have in the living room. I guess I am hoping to buy some really cozy floor lamps for nights where we just wanna laze around the living room and watch TV.

Looking at this lamp from IKEA, does anyone out there knows where I can get nice lighting?? Pray tell and recommend PLEASE! Thankch yew!

Another pretty pinky lamp on the dressing table! I like I like..heehee

And I realized my kitchen has quite a few open cabinets. I am thinking of decorating it with pretty things instead of cluttering it with sauces and other stuff. But let's see if I can manage with the storage space.

Oh and since we are on the subject of kitchens, heres more of the kitchens I wanna have next time:

Its FRI-DAE..... Another week has gone... Been back in Singapore for 3 weeks already and next week its the other big MOVE.. After that, I just wanna settle in our new place and 'dress' it up abit.

D-R-E-A-M Bedroom

Okie 2 posts within a day, I am on a new mission. Erm, if you know me well enough, I tend to have tons of missions every other week. Min can testify to that... haha. Anyway, as I was saying, I have a new hobby, to research on my desired bedroom (for now)!! :)

Been surfing a couple of sites, and I really liked these concepts!

Instead of having boring white walls, add a splash of colour! I like how the sky blue complements the brown! I think I will experiment with a pink and yellow combo :)

The following 2 pictures are definitely what I want my bedroom to look like!! I have always been in love with chandeliers. I really love how they make the room so chic and kitschy! Since most of our bedroom furniture is black, I think a bright pink wallpaper and a black chandelier will do the trick! :)

Otherwise, I don't mind this look either. Cut out your favourite wallpaper design and use it as your bed-header frame. Gives you the flexibility of changing the wallpaper as and when you like! Perfect for me who just love to change patterns and styles to match my whims and fancies!

Dream 家

Just another week to go before we move into our apartment. Been looking at a couple of dream-homes.. well, we can't possibly do anything nice to the rented place. But just hoping to add a few touches to make it more homely for the next year or so.

So I have been surfing around and looking at a couple of blogs on home decorating. Its really quite fun looking at those beautiful homes that I can only dream of right now. Anyway, here are some lovely and beau-teeee-ful decorating tips that I managed to gather:

Bring your sofa to life by throwing around a couple of 'mismatched' cushion covers on it. Personalize your style and this immediately adds 'color' to your living room!

For those precious things and memoirs collected over time, cleverly display them with your favourite books on your bookshelves. Makes an interesting display and pleasant to look at instead of just staring at your boring old bookshelf!
