are women more 'difficult' friends?

B & I had this conversation some weeks ago..this topic just resurfaced as I thought hard about life or friends in general...

Me: Oh my friends are back from overseas..yay
B: Why don't you go and meet them tonight?
Me: Cheh, its Sat, I think they prefer to spend the evening with their loved ones right?
B: I dun understand why women must be so 'ma-fan', wanna meet just meet lah, why must sms and make so many grand plans before meeting?
Me: Aiyah, you wont' understand one.
B: Yah, I dunno...see not like me... XX comes back, all the 'brudders' all clear our diary and meet him..
Me: Wah lau, not meet for one day ok..its meet everyday and drink..
B

So, this got me thinking.. are women more difficult friends? I dun think so.. at least, when me and my friends make appointments, we try our best to accommodate our partner's schedule. I think we are being considerate. Then they are some friends, who would drop everything to be with a friend in need. There are friends, who just disappear after a while. There are friends who sometimes just like to drop in occasionally in my life. There are friends you can hang out with. There are friends who you sometimes let slip by, wondering whether you just didnt try hard enough in the friendship. There are friends that you are just contented saying hi and bye. There are friends that you just enjoy chit-chatting with incessantly about shopping. There are many categories of friends one can have in life, but sometimes I can't help but feel lonely.
