Wiping and Piping

Cleaning is tough man! I need to get a part-time maid!! I never fully appreciate my mom who juggles between her career and manage our 5-member household. Now I also appreciate my maid whom at times work rather slowly but at the end of the day, the household chores get done. Sometimes, I wonder whether 'we' are spoilt! Maybe, having to manage a household temporarily has changed my mindset.

In Tokyo, I used to enjoy doing household chores. I would plan my days deciding when to vacuum the floor, when to wash the laundry and iron the clothes, etc. But now, even though the place we are living in is slightly small, so technically, the household chores should be lesser. But NO WAY, I think it has increased. Here, I kinda gotta worry about the creepy crawlies and the unsightly bugs. For some strange reason, I am also worried about mites. Yikes!

The moping of the house is twice as hard, I keep thinking that the floor is sticky so I freak out more and just spend more time scrubbing the floors. Sigh! As for windows, I haven even gone into that territory, its got moss on it and I kinda dun want to touching that! Sigh!

And just when we thought we are going to settle in nicely, lo and behold! The heater and the pipes in our toilet have started leaking!! Double YIKES!!! The plumbers will be doing a major over-haul and making a huge mess of the toilet that I have painstakingly cleaned! Double SIGH!!

Its times like this that I now wish we have a our own place. Pretty tired shifting and unpacking and just making do with whatever we can get here. If we have our own place, it will be spanking clean (at least for a couple of years till the wear and tear sets in) and I can get to decorate in anyway I want!
