Well, call me an EX TAI TAI back in Tokyo but here are my personal reasons why I would try not to be one here in Singapore though the concept is highly desirable and one that I always dreamed of being. Perhaps one day, I will eventually go back on the T.I.T (Tai Tai-In-Training) programme!
1) I dun have that many friends back in Singapore that are not working and basically sitting around and not doing anything. The women I know are all working hard for their money. I wanna start working hard for my money and start buying my little 'Goods of Desire'!
2) Back here, I don't have to cook so often unlike in Tokyo, where I actually become accustomed to cooking and cleaning the house daily. Anyway, B has been very busy, we hardly see each other for dinner on weekdays for now. Maybe things will change after we move into our place by the River..haha.
3) I kinda gotten bored of not doing stuff everyday. I am no longer a tourist back here. You cant expect me to venture around Singapore. Unlike in Tokyo, I was super contented roaming around by myself and just sniffing out the good bargains at all those yummy 100 or 300 yen stores. It was fun meeting my Singaporean friends going for yummy set-lunches, tea and those gatherings at each other's places where we exchange recipes and endless banter.
This list can go on and the topic remains debatable! Anyway, the 'Grass always remain greener on the other side'. Like Min said, envy is a sin and nobody has it all in life. That I agree, but somehow, we all fall into the trap of envying someone. Well, 一山侅有一山高 (erm, I dunno if I got the 'spelling' right... but as the saying goes, there is always another mountain higher). It's a vicious cycle, some are lucky to be out of it, whilst for me, I just wanna be grateful, appreciate the people around me and the things that I have, and just look forward to working hard to making my 'dreams' come true! *;> winks*
