Tokyo Bay Cruising

Went for class outing this evening on a boat. Supposed to be doing the Tokyo Bay Cruising. Weather was so hot..but I decided to don my ゆかた, I mean not going to get alot of chances to wear it after returning to Singapore. At first was pretty adamant about wearing it cos no 1, I knew I wouldnt be able to figure out how to wear it and no 2, it was so hot! I dun think wearing the yukata would make me feel cooler.

But thanks to dear Andrea, I managed to wear my yukata to the boat event and eventually got a 1000 yen discount because of that. It was her first time trying out the yukata but I must say she was a whizz when it came to following the instructions and tying the obi-belt! Its not as easy as the instructions made it look.So I am thankful that she was on hand to help out!! :)

And so we are off to our boat trip with 飲みほだい (all you can drink buffet) for the next 2 hours. Problem was that we were early but we ended up waiting over an hour before we could get on the boat. By then, we were all pretty fed-up and screaming for beer beer!

The boat was pretty crowded with more than 1000 people on board! So first part of the evening, we just spent it looking for food. Lost my classmates in the midst of chaos, but we ended up finding a spot on the lower deck and having a good time laughing at the people dancing crazily. Reminded me abit of Mambo excpet that you see all these people jumping and shouting in their yukatas. Can you imagine me in my yukata going to Mambo? What a sight!

Thereafter, we reunited with my classmates and it was more photo-taking!

Overall, it was really fun outing... except for the humid heat! I have washed my yukata and praying hard that it would dry in time for another はなび outing this coming Sat. This time, I would get my yukata worn professionally.

Though school has been tough, but I guess its moments like these that I would miss. Afterall, how often can I go back to being a student?
