Off to あさひかわ

This would be our last trip in Japan before we seriously start packing out bags and head back to Singapore! ~deep sigh~ But nonetheless, this was the perfect way to remember Japan by. I would definitely miss the country with tons of offerings every season.

We headed to ふらの to view the pretty Lavender flowers. Come Jun - late August, the hills of Furano are filled with rows and rows of Lavender and other stunning flowers. Its amazing!! The pictures and the scenes that I have watched on the big-screen or on TV don't do the Lavender Hills any justice! I only wished we had better sunny weather during the 3 days that we were there. Unfortunately, Day 1 was sort of spoilt by the Typhoon that 'wheezed' past Hokkaido.

But nonetheless, check out the pictures and snippets for Day 1!

At Haneda Airport preparing for Take Off!
Arrival at Asahikawa in our rented car! B the designated driver!!

Reliable GPS system that we depended on.
Green luscious fields!

Weather was abit overcast so pictures of the flowers are not in its best of glory!

Cute pictures of Mickey and Minnie.
Lonesome tree in the field.

B's snack for the day! You can order hot piping food from vending machines in Japan. Only 400yen. Pretty cheap and decent!

Our sushi lunch. The sushi here is double the size of normal sushi served in other restaurants. Apparently, the chef said that the restaurant is famed for it おきい (big) sushi. Pretty good value for money I guess. But its so huge, I could only manage 4 sushi.

We checked into our hotel and spent the rest of the wet afternoon discovering Ningul Terrace. Loosely translated its Gnome Village. After that, we just stayed in our room and watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban.

Went for dinner cum drinks at Soh's Bar ~ Miserable place for Smokers. Pretty interesting concept. Located in the heart of the 'forest', we had to brave the rain and the muddy grounds to make it to dinner.

Would like to write more...but I got another test tomorrow which I haven studied for. So its off to mugging before Prison Breaking...

Will write more tomorrow...toodles!
